Jay-Z resurrects on "4:44"

Jay-Z plots against his own life and succeeds on his latest album "4:44." The old Jay-Z is no more on the album as the rapper picks apart and evaluates the last couple of years. In 2013, a year after the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, Jay dropped the forgettable Magna Carta Holy Grail hoping to remind the youngsters he never left. The following year, neo-soul queen Solange tears into him in an elevator over a certain ‘becky’ he’s involved with.

Summer blockbuster season is upon us, which means bunches and bunches of punches will be thrown from the silver screen as the action ramps up with the temperature.

"Wonder Woman," starring Gal Gadot, was released on June 2, 2017. The film is DC's first successful entry into their cinematic universe, ditching the grim tone in favor of humor and heart.

“Wonder Woman” brings grace and much needed heart to the DCEU

DC Comics needed a win. “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” did very well at the box office, but both were rightfully panned by critics and any discerning fan. “Man of Steel,” the first film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), received mixed reviews at the time of release and looks worse in retrospect for establishing the grim tone of this universe and prioritizing spectacle over any sort cohesive vision or characterization.

The festival turned five years old this year and blessed concertgoers with the likes of rock group Phoenix, indie band Broken Social Scene, jazz-hop group BADBADNOTGOOD (BBNG) and others.

Gorillaz make triumphant return with its new album

If the Gorillaz’ fifth studio album Humanz is the virtual band’s last, band creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett can hang their hats high. Even with a long five-year break between now and their last release “Do Ya Thing” in 2012, Albarn (the musical performer of the Gorillaz) has returned in top form.

UB Anderson Gallery features 'The Language of Objects' exhibit

As museumgoers walked throughout UB’s Anderson gallery, UB dance students crawled out of the woodwork mimicking the works displayed throughout the gallery. The dancers wore Styrofoam 3D-printed replicas of masks from UB’s Cravens Collection – a collection of archaeological and ethnographic objects from around the world dating as far back as 4,500 BC – which they incorporated into their routine. Patrons had the opportunity to interact with exhibit artists during an artist talk Sunday afternoon. Each artist talked and answered audience questions about their work
