Since 1993, every Saturday after midnight, local television station WBBZ TV, and other channels across the country, air “Off Beat Cinema” (OBC), a “late-night hosted movie show” that airs films described on their website as: “the good, the bad, and the foreign.” In between film segments, a cast of “beatniks” in the fictional “Hungry Ear Coffee House” tell jokes, read poetry and fan mail and converse with guests. It even features a musical segment.

Adam Berete was arrested for last Sunday night’s Creekside apartment burglary, University Police (UPD) told residents in an email Tuesday afternoon. Police report that the 21-year-old Buffalo resident also broke into a vehicle in that area around that time.

In what was their final home game of the regular season, the UB women’s soccer team (10-1-6, 5-1-4 MAC) defeated the reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) champions Ohio (10-3-4, 5-2-3 MAC) by a score of 2-0 at UB stadium on Thursday night. They followed this performance up with a 1-1 draw against the Miami RedHawks (7-4-6, 3-3-4 MAC) on Sunday afternoon, securing a spot in the MAC tournament.

Four Student Association (SA) senators — Riya Gaikwad, Laibah Ahmed, Dilasha Thapa and Nicholas Bausch — resigned their positions, leaving only 19 filled seats out of 23 total in SA Senate. SA opened applications to fill the vacant seats in an Instagram post Tuesday afternoon.
