After achieving national attention with his form in the 2024-2025 season, former star UB linebacker Shaun Dolac was named to the Los Angeles Rams 53-man roster last Tuesday. Despite going undrafted, the West Seneca native signed a free agent deal to the Rams and impressed throughout training camp and preseason, earning a spot on the team’s final roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
In his final year at UB, Dolac produced one of the best seasons in program history. His accomplishments include becoming the Bulls’ first ever consensus All-American, leading the nation in tackles (168), being named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and being a finalist for the coveted Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding player who began their career as a walk-on.
Dolac's name on the roster marks the second consecutive year a UB linebacker has made the NFL after going undrafted. Lancaster native Joe Andreessen made the Buffalo Bills lineup last year following the final seasons of his collegiate career in the 2023-2024 year, where he started all 12 games and led the Bulls in tackles with 90.
Dolac is expected to provide depth to the Rams linebacking squad and contribute to special teams as they prepare for their week 1 matchup against the Houston Texans.
