Ragusa receives honors

Bulls wrestler Mike Ragusa was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week on the strength of his weekend performances.

Buffalo fell to No. 6 Central Michigan on Sunday in the team score, with Ragusa winning the only match of the meet. The 174-pound grappler posted an upset victory over No. 13 Christian Sinnott.

Along with defeating Sinott on Sunday, Ragusa recorded his 20th victory of the season in Saturday's match against Eastern Michigan's Don Funk. Ragusa's victory gave the Bulls their first lead of the meet in the 29-12 victory.

This is Ragusa's first award of his collegiate career, and it is a school record sixth time this season that a Buffalo wrestler has taken home this award.

Ragusa was also named Male Athlete of the Week by the UB Athletic Department for his efforts.
