Roosevelt named twice for Player of the Week

For the second consecutive week, the Mid-American Conference has bestowed player of the week honors to a member of the Bulls football team. Freshman Naaman Roosevelt was named the MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week.

Roosevelt, a return man, combined for over 158 yards on four returns including a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Bowling Green on Saturday. It was the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Bull since Oct. 14, 1989, which was a span of 178 games. Roosevelt also nearly scored on a 55-yard punt return.

Roosevelt was also named as a UB Male Athlete of the Week for his efforts.

Clark named Female Athlete of the Week

Along with Roosevelt, the athletic department named senior Brandie Clark of the volleyball team Female Athlete of the Week after her superb play at the Crusader Classic. Clark finished the week with 143 assists and helped contribute to the offense.

Clark was named to the all-tournament team at the Classic. In the four matches she played last week, she recorded 21 kills and 11 blocks. Clark has 390 assists on the season and leads the team in that category.

MAC names Clarke Player of the Week

Senior forward Andrae Clarke was the second Buffalo men's soccer player in three weeks to be named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week.

Clarke was the first Bulls soccer player since Steve Butcher in 1998 to score a hat trick in a game. His three goals allowed Buffalo to cruise by regionally ranked Valparaiso and end a three-game winless streak on Sunday. Clarke also became the third player nationally to score a hat trick in a game this season, is tied for first in the MAC with three goals and ranks third in the conference with six points.
