Cross Country competed at the NCAA Regional Championships this past Friday, where they faced strong competition. Both the women and the men posted program best finishes against some of the best collegiate runners in the Northeast.
The women had their best finish since the Northeast Regional in 2017, where they placed 10th. This year, the Bulls finished 18th out of the field of 37 teams. Senior Vassi Klock led the way for the team, finishing 54th with a personal best time of 20:59.6. Senior Bronagh Cassidy was just behind, posting a 57th place finish with a personal best time of 21:01.4. Among the other personal bests were graduate student Jacquie Appenheimer, for 115th in 21:45.5, freshman Fiona Klingbeil at 148th in 22:05.6 and senior Paris Welker at 153rd in 22:11.9.
The men finished 16th out of 38 possible teams, their best since 2022. Senior Jacob Brink led the team with a time of 30:33.5, good for 51st place and a personal best. Both junior Cameron Bogdan finished in 70th at 30:51.6 and senior Noah Brightman at 92nd in 31:04.8 also finished in the top 100, with Brightman posting a personal best.
This wraps up the Bulls cross country season. Buffalo will begin their track and field season at the Greg Page Relay in Ithaca, NY on Dec. 5 and 6.
