On Saturday at Alumni Arena, the Bulls (2-17, 0-8 MAC) fought hard but ultimately came up short against the Kent State Golden Flashes (9-10, 4-4 MAC) in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play, 84-74.

Both teams came out hot and eager to win, but the Golden Flashes took control early. Kent State had a double-digit lead by halftime thanks to their strong shooting and presence on the boards. The Bulls tried to chip away in the second half and make it interesting but unfortunately, they couldn’t come back.

The story of the day for the Bulls was redshirt freshman guard Aniya Rowe, having a career day. Rowe finished with 34 points, including seven made three pointers, while also adding six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Redshirt freshman guard Ella Corry also had double digit points with 10.

Free throws killed the Bulls as they went 7-14 while the Golden Flashes went 19-23. Improvement on foul shots is a must if the Bulls want to be able to mount comebacks in any future game.

The Bulls will look to end their 11 game losing streak on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at home against the Eastern Michigan Eagles (9-9, 3-5 MAC). Tip-off is set to be at 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN +.
