The Buffalo Bulls (1-1, 0-0 MAC) had their home opener Saturday afternoon where they secured a 45-6 win against the Saint Francis Red Flash (0-2, 0-0 NEC).

After Saint Francis went three-and-out, Buffalo blocked the punt attempt, giving the Bulls excellent field position. Redshirt junior wide receiver Victor Snow got the scoring going for the Bulls with an excellent 17-yard touchdown catch. Redshirt senior kicker Jack Howes later made a 27-yard field goal to extend the lead to 10-0. Senior running back Al-Jay Henderson added a 1-yard touchdown to make it 17-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter was all Buffalo. After forcing Saint Francis to punt, Buffalo would use their excellent running attack to score yet another touchdown. Henderson scored again, this time from 10 yards out, making it 24-0. Saint Francis missed a field goal attempt before halftime, continuing the shutout for Buffalo.

The second half began and after stopping Saint Francis once again, sixth year quarterback Ta’Quan Roberson joined the running game with a 40-yard touchdown run, making the score 31-0 at the end of the third quarter. Redshirt freshman running back James McNeil Jr. scored his first career touchdown on a 26-yard run in the fourth quarter, sealing a 45-6 win after Saint Francis added their only touchdown.

The Bulls would rush for 370 yards and have five rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, star middle linebacker Red Murdock impressed once again with six total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Junior linebacker SaVeon Brown and junior cornerback Charles McCartherens also had their first career sacks in this game as well.

The Bulls play their first Mid-American Conference game next week against Kent State (1-1, 0-0 MAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday in Kent, Ohio. The game will be available to watch on CBSSN.
