Rollover collision on Hamilton Road leads to minor injuries

Vehicle rolled over twice; UPD still determining fault

A driver sustained minor injuries after her vehicle rolled over twice in an on-campus car accident on Hamilton Road around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A dark gray Mazda CX-5 and a white Mazda CX-5 collided at the Hamilton Road entrance to the Governors C Parking Lot, causing the white car to roll over twice before landing on its roof, partially in the roadway. The gray car appeared to sustain damage to its front end and hood.

The driver of the white vehicle was brought to an ambulance, but she “received very minor injuries,” University Police Deputy Chief Joshua Sticht said in an email.

“We have this good result because everyone was wearing their seatbelts,” Sticht added.

UPD officers were still performing an accident reconstruction to determine how the collision happened and who is at fault on Wednesday afternoon.
