The Bulls (0-3) lost 55-27 to the Liberty Flames (3-0), in Liberty’s first ever visit to UB Stadium.
The first half ended 24-14 in favor of the visitors. The Flames lead only got wider and scored 31 in the latter half, leaving little room for the Bulls to catch up.
Flames sophomore quarterback Kaidon Salter put on a performance against the Bulls defense, throwing five touchdowns, complete with a rushing touchdown of his own. His biggest feat was a 75-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
Salter only scored one more touchdown than Bulls graduate quarterback Cole Snyder, who answered the Flames with four touchdowns, a career high.
Freshman cornerback Charles McCartherens also had a good game, leading the Bulls in defense with nine tackles, more than any other defensive player on the field Saturday afternoon.
The Bulls have one more game before the Mid-American Conference starts: an away game against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns in Lafayette on Saturday Sept. 23. The game will be televised on ESPN+ at 7:30 p.m.
