Senior wide receivers Antonio Nunn (1) and Jovany Ruiz (41) celebrate after a UB touchdown.

Despite not playing a game this week and for the first time in program history, the UB football team has made an appearance in the Associated Press’ Top 25 ranking No. 24.

UB received 145 votes, 30 more than No. 25 Wisconsin and 19 behind No. 23 Texas.

The Bulls have dominated the Mid-American Conference. UB is the only undefeated team in the MAC and is beating opponents by an average of 26 points.

UB leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 50.8 points per game. A string of record-breaking performances by running back Jaret Patterson has propelled the Bulls into the national spotlight. In UB’s game against Kent State, Patterson tied Howard Griffith’s FBS record for single-game rushing touchdowns and came 18 yards short of Samaje Perine’s single-game rushing record.

UB didn’t play this week after its most recent game against Ohio was canceled due to COVID issues within the Bobcats’ program.

UB looks to finish its regular season undefeated when the Bulls host the Akron Zips at UB Stadium Dec.12.
