Both the UB women’s and men’s cross country teams fell short in this weekend’s MAC Cross Country Championship hosted by Bowling Green State University.

The women’s team came in last in a field of twelve teams, finishing with 357 points. The team finished in ninth at last year’s competition.

Northern Illinois took home the MAC Championship in the women’s division.

But UB found itself higher on the leaderboard in the men’s division, as the men’s team finished in third this weekend with 94 points. UB fell short to second and first place teams Miami (63) and Eastern Michigan (39) respectively.

Last year’s meet featured the same top three teams with UB finishing third behind Miami and Eastern Michigan again.

Two men’s runners, junior Scott Loforte and sophomore Armani Merlino, earned All-MAC Second Team honors  for their efforts this season.

The 2020-21 NCAA Cross Country Championship will take place Mar. 15, 2021 in Stillwater, OK.
