UB grants release to three-star recruit Josiah Freeman

Bulls down to one recruit in 2020 class

Three-star men's basketball recruit Josiah Freeman asked for a release from his commitment to UB and UB granted it, according to UB Athletics.

Freeman signed his national letter of intent with the Bulls in November, after turning down offers from nine other schools, including Old Dominion and Siena. He was ranked the No. 17 recruit in Virginia and the No. 74 shooting guard recruit in the country.

Freeman transferred to Manassas Park  High School during his senior season from Paul VI Catholic, the 12th-ranked high school basketball team in the nation. At Paul VI Catholic, he shared playing time with three other highly-rated recruits, including five-star point guard and No. 21 overall recruit Jeremy Roach.

The Bulls are now down to just one recruit for their 2020 class: three-star Louisiana point guard Chanse Robinson. With offers from more than a dozen schools, including Iowa and Seton Hall, Robinson ranks as UB’s fifth-biggest recruiting get of all-time.

With Freeman’s decomittal, the Bulls’ 2020 recruiting class drops to 109th nationally and second in the MAC, according to 247Sports.
