Quick look: UB Bulls lose 37-27 at Eastern Michigan

The Bulls (3-4, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) fell 37-27 to Eastern Michigan (2-4, 1-1 MAC) Saturday.

The Eagles were aided by a quarterback change toward the end of the first half. Senior quarterback Rob Bolden was replaced by freshman Reggie Bell – who ran for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Two of his touchdowns runs went for over 70 yards.

Buffalo led 13-9 early in the third quarter before Eastern Michigan scored 21 unanswered points to take a 30-13 lead. Buffalo cut the Eagles’ lead to 10 with five minutes remaining, but Bell ran for a 72-yard touchdown run to seal the victory.

Junior quarterback Joe Licata completed 27 of 44 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions. Junior running back Anthone Taylor failed to run for over 200 yards in three straight games, finishing with 128 yards and no touchdowns. He had 109 yards at halftime.

The Bulls have their bye week next weekend. Buffalo hosts Central Michigan (3-3, 1-1 MAC) at UB Stadium on Oct. 25. Kick off is set for 3:30 p.m.
