Tennis teams head into MAC tournament this weekend

Baseball (17-16, 8-6 Mid-American Conference)

Due to inclement weather for most of the season, the Bulls (17-16, 8-6) held their home opener Tuesday against Canisius (25-14, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), but were swept by the Griffins 15-3 and 2-1 in a doubleheader.

After the 15-3 blowout in the first, the Bulls responded with an early 1-0 lead to start the second game. Canisius responded with a two-run seventh inning to take a lead it would not surrender. The Bulls host Akron (21-18, 9-6 MAC) this weekend for a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. at Amherst Audubon Field.

Softball (21-20, 5-5 MAC)

The Bulls will be on the road this weekend, traveling to Western Michigan (16-27, 7-7 MAC) Friday for a doubleheader. The team will then travel to Northern Illinois (19-24, 7-7 MAC) to play a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday. Friday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m.

Men's Tennis (11-7, 1-3 MAC)

The Bulls clinched the No. 4 seed in the MAC Tournament in Muncie, Ill. The team will face MAC regular season champion Northern Illinois (18-5, 4-0 MAC) in the semifinal match Friday at 10 a.m. If Buffalo advances, Saturday's championship match is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Women's Tennis (14-5, 5-3 MAC)

Buffalo heads to Miami, Ohio for the MAC Tournament this weekend. The Bulls enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed against Toledo (14-6, 5-3 MAC) Friday at 10 a.m.

Lacrosse (5-6, 0-5 Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League)

The Bulls conclude their final two games of the season at Kunz Field this weekend. They will play Rhode Island (4-5, 0-4 PCLL) Friday and Ohio University (5-4, 3-3 Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association) Sunday. Friday's faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with Sunday's game starting at 2 p.m.
