Quick Hits: Busy Saturday at Alumni Arena

Men's basketball (0-2)

The Bulls host West Virginia Wesleyan (1-1) in their home opener as the second part of a basketball doubleheader at Alumni Arena on Saturday. Senior forward Javon McCrea had 31 points and 14 rebounds in Buffalo's 92-81 loss at Niagara (1-1) on Wednesday night. Tip is set for 3 p.m.

Women's basketball (2-0)

The Bulls return to Alumni Arena after opening the season with back-to-back road victories for the first time since 1983. Buffalo hosts Cornell (1-0) after dropping last season's road contest 70-43 to the Big Red. Tip is set for 12:30 p.m.

Volleyball (16-11, 4-10 Mid-American Conference)

The Bulls close out their season at home against Miami Ohio (11-15, 3-11 MAC) Friday and Bowling Green (13-13, 9-5 MAC) Saturday. Buffalo has lost its last seven contests, but three of its last four games have gone into five sets. The matches are set for Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Cross Country

On Friday, senior Zach Ahart leads Buffalo's cross-country team to the NCAA Northeastern Championships in the Bronx. Ahart is coming off the first men's individual MAC championship in program history. The men finished 16th at the meet last season, and the women finished 15th.
