Fall fashion with flair

This week's spotlight features students who have mastered laidback fall fashion with a kick.

Marisela Lugo

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Bronx, N.Y.

Major: Business

What she's wearing: Denim Levi's jacket, Forever 21 white V-neck, H&M high-waisted black jeans and bag, Bakers combat boots

Favorite trends: Bold and dark lip colors, leather and fur

Fashion inspiration: A mixture depending on her mood - Olivia Taylor, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus or Kim Kardashian

Worst trends: She is not a fan of tracksuits and graphic leggings

Go to items: Concealer, red lipstick, combat boots, leather jacket and scrunchies

Fashion Advice: "After carefully deciding what to wear, comfort is your number one concern," she said. "You can't go outside in something you're not comfy in; people will notice."

Armando Benitez

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Rochester, N.Y.

Major: English

What he's wearing: Old Navy white button down, Gap shorts, Aldo shoes, Raymond Weil watch, Ray-Ban glasses

Fashion inspiration: Anything urban casual, with a young-Americana feel

Worst trends: He is not a fan of baggy clothing. You won't see him rocking the "Jesse Pinkman" anytime soon.

Go-to pieces: Chinos, pocket shirts and anything Buffalo Bills

Fashion advice: "Whether your style is formal, casual or anything in between - wear what you're comfortable in," he said. "Confidence in what you're wearing is half the battle."
