I'm proud to say that I will be entering my final semester at UB in the fall of 2013.
Technically, my concentration in the art program is photography, but if I've learned anything over the past four years of being in college, or in 22 years of life, it is to be flexible and make yourself available for new opportunities (which is how I got into doing editorial cartoons at The Spectrum).
After changing my school, then my major more than once in my undergraduate career, a willingness to adapt to new environments is a skill that I think everyone should practice. I have come to realize that just because the degree I will receive will say I majored in one thing, that does not necessarily limit me to one career path. Working with The Spectrum this past spring enabled me to explore a skill that I may have let fall to the wayside had I not wanted to try something outside of my major.
As a super senior, I've found that it is of the utmost importance to involve yourself in as many activities and with as many people as possible. You may not know what comes out of doing a favor for a friend or acquaintance - it may lead to new friendships, career opportunities or learning experiences.
