The Spectrum's Sex Survey

Where and how do University at Buffalo students like to do it? The Spectrum surveyed 207 UB students to identify the general attitude toward Valentine's Day and sex positions.

Of the 109 males surveyed, 65 percent said they don't care about Valentine's Day. Only 19 percent of single men claimed to care about Valentine's Day, whereas this percentage jumped to 50 percent for men in relationships.

The favorite sex position among men was doggy style, with 29 percent. The next favorite was reverse cowgirl at 16 percent, with cowgirl and missionary following close behind. Only one man described spooning as his favorite position.

Men overwhelmingly preferred the bed to have sex, with 49 percent indicating it as their favorite location to get it in. The shower, against a wall, and "other" (which included the car, sailboat, airplane, the beach or a couch) each hovered around 12 percent.

Of the 98 females surveyed, approximately 48 percent claimed to not care about Valentine's Day. This number dropped to 35 percent for women in a relationship, however.

Women were all across the board in terms of what they liked best in bed. Most prefer doggy style, coming in around 24 percent. Missionary was close behind at 20 percent. About 15 percent of women surveyed indicated that they liked all the positions listed.

Again, the bed was the overwhelming first choice to have sex, coming in at 57 percent for women. About 13 percent indicated the shower as their favorite, while only about 5 percent said they like either the floor or against a wall best.
