Tuesday's and Wednesday's political arena was charged. Equipped with colorful balloons and t-shirts, candidates and volunteers alike filled the corners of the Student Union, handing out flyers with their slogans and giving a moment of their time to every passerby.
If you had the chance to go through the union, you would no doubt have experienced the energy. In the bustle, it can be difficult to distinguish platforms and political parties from each other, no less gain insight into how they fit into your own agenda.
Take this opportunity to ask our candidates questions or voice concerns you have. As students we know access to the information you need to make informed decisions is pivotal to making headway.
We as students have the ability, and we believe, the responsibility to leave this institution in a better condition than when we entered it. There are many ways to do this, from research to athletics to our investments. As an undergraduate student, you have invested in the Student Association.
Now, you have the opportunity to insure a good return on that investment, a return that will meet your needs and reform the Student Association into a body that truly serves the diverse lives of students. Let's expand our expectations to include transportation, academic, living, and safety concerns. Let's hold our leaders accountable.
Moreover, let us as a party, represent you in this election. The time is now ladies and gentlemen, vote.
Thank you, to all the volunteers and everyone who came out to vote.??
Emily Bauer, SUNY Delegate candidate
