This Sunday, with only the Puppy Bowl standing in their way, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers are planning on a game that television sets all across the nation will tune in for. All across UB, students are planning their weekends around giving the Super Bowl the attention it deserves.
???"I have to work, unfortunately, but only until 8 p.m., so I'm still going to be able to celebrate," said Kaitlyn Taylor, a freshman management major.
???Bryan Boklund, a sophomore environmental science major, hasn't made any plans except for watching the game and seeing where the rest of the night takes him.
???"I don't know what I'm going to do yet," Boklund said. "I'm probably going to party."
???While some students make up their Super Bowl plans on the fly, others are going to be prepared with some good food, and most importantly, some good company.
???"I'm going to get together with some friends and have a little party," said Tyler Durinka, a freshman nursing major. "It's going to be nice."
???Chris Ciesinski, a sophomore engineering major, in getting ready for the Super Bowl, is trying to put together a small party.
???"I'm still working on getting a bunch of friends together," Ciesinski said. "We are just going to watch the game and hang out."
???When it comes down to students picking a favorite team, the Cardinals have quite a few supporters among the UB population.
???"I like the Cardinals because of the fact that they have never been in the Super Bowl before," Ciesinski said. "I also think that Ben Roethlisburger is kind of an idiot."
???Durinka and Boklund would both like to see the Cardinals win as well. At game time, however, it's going to be up to the players to make it happen.
???"I want Arizona to win, but I still don't really know what's going to happen," Durinka said.
???Laura Cipriani, a freshman exercise science major, watches the game every year, but doesn't have any big plans for Sunday. Just celebrating with the big game, some pizza and wings will be enough fun.
???"My boyfriend was surprised that I even knew who was in the Super Bowl this year," Cipriani said.
???Pizza and wings, the staple of any Super Bowl Sunday diet, isn't going to be the only thing that students are feasting on. Durinka plans on putting a little work into his food and coming out with a tasty, creative snack.
???"We are going to be having chicken wing dip," Durinka said. "It's pretty much an assortment of bad stuff."
???When the kickoff happens, the Cardinals and the Steelers may or may not be able to deliver a game that lives up to all the excitement. Regardless of the game's turnout, however, UB students will be having a good time.
