The King of Auto-tune and "son" of Teddy Riley has finally released his highly anticipated album Thr33 Ringz. With more collaborations than most artists combined, it's no wonder T-Pain calls himself "The Ringleader" of the industry.
With a guest list including Chris Brown, Ludacris, Lil' Wayne, Ciara, Kanye West and many more, fans can expect to get a two-for-one deal when listening to this album.
On tracks like "Ringleader Man," T-Pain's color-fused, diamond-lined braggadocio shines through.
"I'm the ringleader man/ This is my circus I'm working/ I can flip this whole game with one hand/ The ringleader man/ I know it's a fact that you rather just have some of me instead," sings T-Pain.
Even with such complacent lyrics, T-Pain undeniably backs his words up. Offering up over 25 collaborations since he started his career in 2003, it's almost impossible not to hear T-Pain raiding the top of the charts with his captivating choruses and distinct robo-vocals.
Closing the album on a controversial note is "Karaoke," featuring DJ Khaled. On the critical callout, T-pain attacks all of the artists that have been imitating his trademark by using auto-tune in their songs.
Some of the most prevalent auto-tune singles released this year were "Love Lockdown" by Kanye West and the smash hit "Lollipop" by Lil' Wayne, who ironically seem to be the only artists Pain approves of.
"Ay ay listen/ It ain't all bad/ Some of you please me/ But the only dudes that's cool is Kanye and Lil' Weezy," sings T-Pain.
The track starts off apologizing to Akon for what he's about to say, which is odd since Akon appears on the single "It Ain't Me." T-pain surprisingly returns to his nappy-headed roots here, rappin' instead of sangin'.
"But y'all was in the game way before me/ So why you wanna do something I did in '03/ You're just a swagger jacker/ Now I'm a certified Lamborghini-st and cadillac-er/ Cuz I'm tryin' to feed my kids/ Y'all can die slowly/ 'Cuz just to me/ It sound like a bunch of karaoke," raps T-Pain, portraying himself in a light few have seen him in before.
Thr33 Ringz has a variety of talent, with hits like "Freeze" featuring Chris Brown and "Chopped n Skrewed" featuring Ludacris and a slew of other artists. This "Ringleader" has proven he is not one to be messed with, continuing to take the industry by storm.
