???For those who don't look back in time, history does in fact repeat itself.
???Saturday afternoon, the Bulls (12-4-4, 3-1-2 Mid-American Conference) faced off against the Northern Illinois Huskies (11-5-4, 4-1-1 MAC) for the second time in three years in the MAC Tournament semifinals. The Huskies dominated the match, defeating the Bulls 1-0, bringing to the surface memories of the Huskies' 2006 semifinals 3-0 defeat of the Buffalo team.
???"I think, outside of a good result for us, it seemed to be pretty good entertainment value for the people that watched," Huskies head coach Steve Simmons said in a press release. "I thought we were the dominant team on the night."
???Both teams came out strong in the first half, with neither scoring a goal in the opposing team's net. It was not until the second half that the Huskies earned the game-winning goal. In the 72nd minute, Josh Karsten got a header past Bulls junior goalkeeper Robert Shuttleworth, ending the Bulls' chance of playing in another championship game against Akron.
???The Bulls had only three shots to the Huskies' six, with two coming in the first half by junior forward Dan Bulley and senior forward Marc Stencel. Junior midfielder Alex Marrello earned Buffalo's final shot in the 60th minute.
???Shuttleworth stopped five Huskies shots, finishing the year with 65 saves in 20 contests. He holds a 0.63 goals against average, the second lowest in a single season for Buffalo.
???"[I give] full credit to their goalkeeper for keeping them in it," Simmons said. "He made some tremendous plays to keep them in the game, because I think the final score could've been three or four to zero."
???Buffalo was ranked 10th in the most recent Great Lakes Regional poll going into the match against the Huskies.
