According to the 2007/2008 Durex Sexual Well-being Global Survey, Americans are lacking in the quality and frequency of our sexual encounters.
The study reports that Americans, on average, have sex once every 4.3 days and spend 57 minutes per week engaging in foreplay and sexual intercourse. While the numbers may seem high, the global rates trump with a frequency of sex once every 3.5 days and a weekly lust allotment time of 71 minutes.
America shares the bottom of the barrel with other stereotypically busy-bee nations Japan and Hong Kong; 37 percent of Americans feel their sex lives would improve with less stressful lives. But with all the economic concern America has for her place in the global market, cutting back on work for extra-frequent sex isn't the solution.
Instead, Americans should focus on improving the Durex statistic that states that less than half of Americans are fully satisfied after their sexual encounters. Once we're home from work and all is well in the financial arena, let us spend some more time with our friend, passion.
Men, be gentlemanly by striving to make your partner climax first as often as possible. Spend just a little more time, each time (ladies, too), and the frequency won't be important. Sex minutes per week will inevitably increase and, more importantly, so will our satisfaction between the sheets.
Durex would love us to freak at our failing frequency, run to the store, buy more condoms and make like Euro-rabbits.
But there won't be anything to be ashamed of if we keep our sex rate steady, stay strong on the workaholic rush, and be known as a nation where everyone goes to bed happy.
