Around 2 p.m. on Thursday, an assembly of ambulances and police units responded to a call that a UB Stampede bus driver was having chest pains.
Chief Gerald Schoenle of University Police said that they received the call around 2:15 p.m. at which time officers were dispatched to the scene while an off-campus ambulance service was contacted.
Three UB police officers met the ambulance, and the scene was cleared in 20 minutes, which Schoenle said was a fast response.
He also said that the driver was transported to Sisters of Charity Hospital on Main Street in Buffalo - a seven mile drive from North Campus.
Hospital officials could not release the name or condition of the driver and volunteer medical technicians on the scene declined to comment on the situation.
