With his seventh album "Reality Check," Juvenile returns to the game to remind us who really put the South on the map. With a steady supply of quality club bangers, Juvenile will have you bopping your head through the whole album.
As New Orleans' most prominent M.C., Juvenile speaks about the hurricane and its aftermath on his first track, "Get Ya Hustle On." "Everybody try and get a check from FEMA / So he can go and score him some co-ca-ina / Man I'm tryin' to live, I lost it all in Katrina."
Juve shows the more familiar side of himself with the stripper anthem "Rodeo" and his unrequited love for the female anatomy with "Loose Booty."
"When she step her ass bounce two times / The wobble wobble make it hard for her to walk straight lines."
The former hot boy is lyrically consistent throughout the album with his melodic flows and fast paced rhyme style. The lyrics aren't the only tight part of the album-most of the beats are equally impressive, with help from producers Scott Storch, Manny Fresh, Cool & Dre, and Brian McKnight. Even Lil John gets a piece of the action in the infectious track "Why Not."
Juvenile also has a nice amount of guest features on his album, including Bun B, Mike Jones, Pall Wall, Fat Joe, and Ludacris. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne didn't make an appearance on the album, but maybe that's asking too much. Either way, Juve remains as consistent as ever with his latest offering, which is as hard hitting as any other album he has put out.
