Men's soccer receives top 10 rankings
After finishing 14-3-2 overall in the 2005 season, the men's soccer team received top 10 rankings in four of five offensive categories out of the 30 teams ranked.
Amongst the top Division I teams, Buffalo placed fifth in won-loss-tied percentages, sixth in team goals-against average, ninth in highest-scoring offense with 2.37 goals a game, and eighth in shots on goal percentages.
Standout juniors Andrae Clarke and Daniel Bell both ranked in the top 30 in individual statistic category. Clarke, a forward, finished ninth in the nation in assists per game with .58 and 28th in points per game averaging 1.58 points per competition.
The goalkeeper Bell became Buffalo's all-time win leader with 23 career wins with his 14 wins in a season, which is also a school record. He was ranked 11th in the nation in goals against average (.654), and 21st in shots-on-goal save percentage with .821.
Buffalo was denied a bid to the NCAA tournament last year, after making it to the MAC championship game for the first time in team history.
The Bulls were also honored with most improved team honors, as their 14-3-1 record is 5.5 games better than last years 8-8-2 season, and an incredible 12 games better than the 2003 season, where Buffalo went 1-12-3 overall.
