UB's volleyball team ended their season on Tuesday night with a loss in a three-game sweep, this time falling to the Western Michigan University Broncos. The game scores were 30-19, 30-14, and 30-15. The 2004 season included a 14-game losing streak and only one conference victory for the Bulls.

The Bulls' leading scorer, Katie Weekley, had six kills in the match and junior setter Amy Brown contributed 16 assists. Molly Schrantz needed 10 kills to reach 1,000 for her career, but she was unable to reach that mark, notching only four kills in the match. Schrantz ends her career at UB with 994 kills, good to place her eighth all-time in UB volleyball history.

As a team, the Broncos' hit percentage was .358 including a .500 in the third game. Western Michigan also got double-digit kill performances from Abby Gephart and Ashley Schatzle who each had 13 and 10 kills respectively. Schea Fissel led all players with 19 digs, and Jessica Holly had a match-high 45 assists.

Women's Soccer

Anna-Lesa Calvert was named to the Academic All-MAC team for her breakout performance in her senior year as a goalkeeper. Calvert made 121 saves this year, which is three more than her previous two seasons combined. She ends her career with 22 wins, which is good for second on UB's all-time list. Calvert's 239 career saves place her sixth in the record book. In addition to her on-field statistics, Calvert has amassed a 3.67 GPA as a psychology major and maintains her status as a UB Scholar Athlete.

Men's Soccer

UB men's soccer goalie Daniel Bell was also named to the Academic All-MAC team. A sophomore, this was Bell's first season as the starting goalkeeper for the Bulls.

Bell was injured for the majority of last season, but bounced back very well this season, playing in 17 of 18 games for the Bulls. He recorded four shutouts in the Bulls' first five games of the season and is tied for sixth in the record books for wins in a single season with eight. He is also ranked 20th for his 1.55 goals-against average. Bell was also able to reach the top ten in the MAC with his 57 saves this season.

Though he has not yet declared a major, Bell was able to record a 3.59 GPA, keeping the Bulls' streak of players on the Academic All-MAC team alive for four years in a row.
