Monday

6:30 p.m.: Author Thurston Clarke will be giving a free live broadcast on WBFO in Allen Hall on South Campus.

7 p.m.: The Communication SA will be holding a talent show in the Student Union Theater. $3 in advance, $4 at the door.


Tuesday

2 p.m.: Charles Ebert, a distinguished teaching professor, will give a presentation, "The Krakatoa Disaster of 1883: A Visit to a Monster Volcano," in 102 Goodyear Hall.

3:30 p.m.: Kristallnacht Remembrance Ceremony. 209 Commons.

8 p.m.: There will be a free student ensemble concert by the Genkin Philharmonic in the Baird Recital Hall.


Wednesday

11 a.m.: Megumi Naoi will give a free presentation, "Contested Forces? Economic Openness and Political Responses to Regional Inequality in East Asia in 502 Park Hall.

12:30 p.m.: Prof. Junhao Hong will give a free Work-in-Progress Luncheon Presentation entitled, "Internet Regulations and Policies in China and Their Sociolegal Implications," in 545 O'Brian Hall.


Thursday:

11:30 a.m.: The UB Students Against Sweatshops will be holding a free forum on Worker's Rights Issues in 145 Student Union.

4 p.m.: Samba, Part of the Ballroom Dance Series, will be held in the Social Hall of the Student Union. Free. Register at workshops.buffalo.edu

Friday:

11 a.m.: Jason Sorens will be giving a free lecture, "The Cross-Sectional Determinants of Secessionism in Advanced Democracies," in 502 Park Hall.

1 p.m.: Barbara Bono, an associate professor of English and Director, at the Institute for Research and Education on Women and Gender, will be giving a free lecture, "To See or Not to See? Using Feature Film in the Classroom" in 120 Clemens Hall.

3:30 p.m.: Denise and Gary Gottfredson, Professors, University of Maryland, will be giving a free lecture, "What Schools Do to Prevent Problem Behavior: Explorations in a National Sample of Schools" in 203 Diefendorf Hall, South Campus.

8 p.m.: Cellist Fred Sherry will be performing in Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall. $12 General, $9 UB Faculty/Staff/Alumni, $9 Senior Citizens, $9 WNED members with card, $5 students.

8 p.m.: Colin Quinn will appear as part of the Off-Center Comedy Series in the Center for the Arts. $27 general public, $20 UB students at the Center box office.


Saturday

5 p.m.: The Haitian Student Association presents "Tribute to Haiti" in Harriman Hall. $6 in advance, $7 at the door.

5 p.m.: The Wind Action Group is holding a fundraising event at the Central Park Grill on Main Street. Free beer, wine, and pizza. Musical entertainment by Five to One. $25 Donation, $10 Low Income and Students.
