Bulls Football
Dallas Pelz has been named the MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the week for the second time in a row for his performance against the Toledo Rockets last Saturday. Pelz successfully kicked a school record five field goals, all from beyond 35 yards. Not only did Pelz become the all-time leading scorer for kickers at UB with 138 points, but he also set the record for points in a game by a kicker with 17. Additionally, Pelz was named one of the Lou Groza Award's Top Three Stars of the Week.
Spectrum Athlete of the Week
Jenny Koeppel, a junior on the women's cross-country team, is this week's Spectrum Athlete of the Week. Koeppel was the only Bull to win All-MAC honors at Saturday's MAC Championships. Koeppel finished in 17:50, good enough for ninth out of 109 runners in the race. Koeppel and the rest of the Bulls will be in action November 15 at the NCAA northeast regional.
MAC Football on TV
Miami of Ohio (8-1, 5-0 Mid-American Conference) throttled MAC rival and nationally ranked Bowling Green (7-2, 4-1 MAC) 33-10 on Tuesday night in a nationally televised game on ESPN.
Martin Nance came up huge for the RedHawks, reeling in ten catches for 165 yards. Heisman hopeful Ben Roethlisberger was less than spectacular, going 19-28 for 229 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.
