@UB'Problems creator reveals identity

After two years behind the computer, @UB_Problems' creator is ready to reveal her identity. Cassie Lavo, a senior communication major, is graduating and was convinced by her best friend to reveal her identity.

She had kept it anonymous while she was the sole tweeter, because she thought if people who were friends with her knew who ran the account, they would want Lavo to tweet their problems all the time.

"It's supposed to be something other than a person," Lavo said. "Just general entity of UB problems."

Because she is graduating, she has passed @UB_Problems along to a group of anonymous underclassmen who will keep the legacy alive.

The continuation of the account was something that was important to Lavo.

"My friends pushed me to do it because they thought if I graduated without saying it was me, it would die off," Lavo said. "I think it's cool, because I'm graduating and people know it's me. From now on, it will continue with not me but other people."

Lavo thinks some of her friends and classmates will be surprised to hear she was behind the Twitter account, but she's not uncomfortable with the idea.

The account currently has 5,058 followers who still expect to see their "140 characters to sum up UB's problems" retweeted.
