My advice to the reader: if you're not a New York Yankees fan, don't even bother watching baseball this year, you will only be disappointed. A 27th World Series title is just inevitable.

The UB women's lacrosse club participated in a tournament at Grove City two weeks ago in which they had to persevere through thick mud, high winds, and blinding snow in order to succeed. At the end of a long hard road, the club posted victories over John Carroll, Grove City and Virginia Wesleyan in the three games they participated in.
Say what? Now I know that most of you have no idea that we had an ultimate Frisbee team and that some of you may not even know what ultimate Frisbee is. But nevertheless, this team does exist and, unlike many other sports here at UB, it is open to guys as well as girls. But don't think for one minute that this sport is a joke, because to the players and fans of ultimate Frisbee, it is as real as it gets.
UB wrestling's Kyle Cerminara endured the fight of his life Thursday night in Albany, N.Y. at the NCAA wrestling championships against the ultimate competitor in the sport.
I feel bad for the Washington Wizards' Rip Hamilton, also known as "Skeletor." Come on now, MJ goes down and this guy is anointed to lead the team to the playoffs? That's like asking Vin Diesel to win an Oscar. It's never going to happen.
Too many times here at the University at Buffalo I hear students say if this school put out good sporting teams with winning records, they would go watch. They complain that none of the teams are worth watching due to the fact that a majority of the big-time sports at UB having losing records.
Kyle Cerminara is going to NCAA wrestling's "big dance."
The Miami (Ohio) RedHawks won the 2002 MAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, coming from behind to pass Ohio for the championship in the final event. Eastern Michigan took third place followed by Toledo.
The Knicks' season is making me very nauseous. With each late-game collapse I become more and more fed up with the way things are being run. When Othella Harrington and Clarence Weatherspoon are some of the leaders on the team, you can pretty much kiss the season goodbye.
The wrestling squad's dual-meet record has wallowed in mediocrity all season long, and this past Sunday didn't do much to help the cause as it went from 5-7 to 6-8 with a split at the American Duals this past Sunday. The Bulls had one of their strongest efforts all year in thumping the host American University Eagles at Bender Arena 36-6, but perhaps suffered a letdown when they then went on to fall 20-15 to the Old Dominion Monarchs.
The Bulls wrestling squad has waged war against extreme competition all year long and have struggled against some of the better teams in the nation.
Haha! Wow the Rams stink. I'm sorry, you can believe whatever you want to believe about the Patriots being this "great team," but the bottom line is they aren't really that good. The BILLS almost beat them. Let's take a look at some of the "key" members of the team.
The University at Buffalo's wrestling team entered competition last weekend coming off an impressive outing at the New York State Championships, and was looking to carry that success over into their dual meets.
The Cliff Keen Invitational, held in Las Vegas, Nev., is one of the most well-recognized wrestling tournaments in the nation. It is a showcase for the country's best college wrestlers to display their abilities during intense competition.
Jim Kelly is a symbol of greatness for the Bills and the city of Buffalo, and it was great to see him get what he deserved in having his own day at Ralph Wilson Stadium as well as having his number retired a few weeks ago. I was one of those fortunate enough to be there to witness it, and it truly was great getting to see Kelly as well as Andre Reed, James Lofton and Don Beebe back in the stadium. It brought back great memories of past glory and the excitement of a winning season.
The Buffalo Bulls wrestling team opened up Mid-American Conference competition this past weekend in Dekalb, Ill. with a two-match split. The squad dropped its first match to the Northern Illinois Huskies 22-13, but rebounded nicely to defeat the Eagles of Eastern Michigan in a 33-6 thumping.
Well, the 2001 Major League Baseball season has come to an end. It truly was a great season, concluding with a scintillating World Series. But I sure am glad that the World Series is over because if I saw one more commercial for "24," I would have clawed my own eyes out. You know it's bad when your parents are singing lines from "Break Stuff" because they played it so much.
Brockport, N.Y. was the location of the Oklahoma Gold Classic where the UB wrestling team kicked off its 2001-2002 campaign. Why it's called the Oklahoma Gold Classic when it's played in Brockport is a good question. Regardless, the Oklahoma Sooners took first place in the competition, followed by Cleveland State and then the Bulls in third place. The Bulls scored 99.5 points, only three points behind Cleveland State.
So the San Diego Chargers have lost two in a row the past two weeks against perennial losers Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. That would essentially mean Doug Flutie lost. Let me repeat that: Doug Flutie, "Our Lord and Savior," has lost two games in a row. Aw gee, ain't that too bad?
Coming off a big win over rival Canisius College last Wednesday, the University at Buffalo women's tennis team was riding on a wave of confidence into the weekend, where they faced opponents Marist and Duquesne. However, their momentum hit a brick wall when the Lady Bulls lost both matches, dropping their overall record to 2-2 on the season.
