No matter what the holiday, though, most students have plans on how to spend this holiday season.

The foreign language requirement at UB is an unnecessary burden to those subjected to it. Instead of forcing students to suffer through up to four semesters of a foreign language, the university should foster the ability to take classes of interest and relevance outside of a student's major.

Since I was a young teenager, I knew there were certain things I wanted to do when I grew up: travel the world, own a horse, adopt some children (in addition to having my own), and donate my organs - when I no longer needed them - if possible.

Since Oct. 2, Washington, D.C., area residents have been anxiously awaiting the capture of the sniper that has been holding them hostage in their own neighborhoods. During the past two weeks, 11 people have been shot, and nine have been killed. Four people were killed while filling up their gas tanks; a 13-year-old boy was shot outside of his school and remains in critical condition.
