UB Recreation shifts to intramural Esports

For college athletes who are not part of the Division I program at UB, intramural sports allow students to come together and compete in a wide array of sports. In recent semesters UB Recreation has offered team sports like soccer, basketball, flag football, floor hockey and volleyball.  Every weeknight the Ed Wright Practice Facility would be filled with students

Return of the MAC

On Friday the Mid-American Conference unanimously approved the return of football with the season set to kick off on Nov. 4. UB will officially resume its football season upon approval from the New York State Department of Health.


UB's 2021 football schedule was released Friday morning. The Bulls will take on Nebraska and the reigning Sun Belt Conference champions, Coastal Carolina.

The MAC could be back

The presidents of the Mid-American Conference schools discussed a potential six or eight game schedule that would begin on October 24, culminating in the MAC championship game. There was still no decision or vote taken when the conference met to discuss when the MAC could return to football.

Mark Alnutt talks postponement of fall sports, why a ‘bubble’ can’t happen and plans for the winter and spring seasons

The Mid-American Conference’s decision to postpone the fall sports season due to COVID-19 concerns sent shockwaves through the sports world. The MAC became the first conference to cancel their fall sports season, with the Mountain West and Big Ten following suit shortly after. UB Athletic Director Mark Alnutt, a member of the NCAA Football Oversight Committee as well as the MAC’s fall sports re-scheduling committee, worked with athletic directors from other schools to determine the fall sports season fate.

Back for more

After declaring for the NBA draft on March 20, Jayvon Graves took his name out of the 2020 NBA draft pool and announced his return to UB for his senior season.
