Following a gut-wrenching 37-31 loss against FCS opponent Holy Cross in Week 2, UB (0-2) is set to hit the road and take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (2-0) in Brooks Stadium on Saturday. The Bulls look to rebound from last week’s heartbreaker while the Chants, who are coming off a 31-27 victory over Gardner-Webb, have the opportunity to enter their conference schedule with an undefeated record.

Coming into the season with a re-vamped roster and coaching staff, one could say the odds were stacked against UB (0-1) heading into Saturday’s season-opener against Maryland (1-0). It certainly looked that way on Saturday, as the Bulls fell 31-10 at Capital One Field in College Park, MD.

Head coach Maurice Linguist and the Bulls have seen a complete makeover this offseason following a disspointing 4-8 record last year. Linguist brought in 20 transfers and 16 high school commits, giving UB the No. 1 overall recruiting class in the Mid-American Conference, according to 247Sports.com. He also brought in numerous new faces on his staff in defensive coordinator Grandon Bailey, running backs coach Greg Knox, wide receivers coach Kevin Sherman and linebackers coach Kevin Corless.
