Jams to spice up your Halloween weekend

When the spirits start to rise up from their graves and mingle with the living for All Hallows’ Eve, might as well give the ghosts and ghouls something to groove to. Even werewolves and vampires love to dance.

All Hallows’ Eve is a spiritual time. Souls of the dead rise up and mingle with the souls of the living. But no one said ghosts don’t like to dance, too. When you’re donning your costume, waiting to go out on the town and get drunk with the spirits, make sure to throw this playlist on first and set the mood. Nothing gets you in the mood to get weird like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Stevie Wonder – “Superstition”

What better way to start your night than getting lost in the ominous omens of this holiday? This classic track that will set the mood for the ghouls and ghosts to get rocking and rolling. Motown’s 1972 hit resonates today as when it came out – just try not to break any mirrors!

The Cranberries – “Zombie”

Whether or not you’re spending the night as a zombie, what matters is what’s in your head, right? The conflict between reality and what’s perceived is not always black and white. Take some Cranberries and feed your head.

The Rolling Stones – "Sympathy for the Devil"

Now, whether or not you think All Hallows’ Eve belongs to the devil, the least you can do is throw some sympathy his way for allowing the spirits from the other realm to come over and party. As the music rocks and the ground opens up, prepare to make some new acquaintances.

Ray Parker Junior – “Ghostbusters”

Hopefully you’re not afraid of ghosts – but if you are, you already know who to call. We’re not here to dampen the party though; this rocking track will bring you back in time and spin you around again and again.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Heads Will Roll”

When this song comes on, it will have different meanings for everyone on the dance floor. The suggestion will only take you one way, but you can always look forward to coming back every Halloween. So don’t stop dancing!

The Bangles - “Walk like an Egyptian”

The mummies might be a bit late to the party but once they’re there, they’ll rule the dance floor like they did ancient Egypt. Follow their lead, and walk like they do. You’ll be the hottest undead dancer around.

Michael Jackson – “Thriller”

An ominous voice takes over the atmosphere, the clock approaches midnight – you know the night is coming to a close. No party is complete without Michael Jackson’s electrifying “Thriller” to give the party a burst of energy. By the end of the song, it’s time for the visitors to crawl back home.

Danny Elfman – “This is Halloween”

A perfect track to let those paranormal visitors know that while it was a wild time, it’s time to go. You know the type of live-ins you want, and ghost and ghouls aren’t it. Close up your night with a throwback to Tim Burton’s classic.
