Buffalo has a host of Halloween parties to choose from - whether you want to go listen to music, enter a costume contest, or get drunk and dance with the spirits all night long, there is something for everyone.

Having only one night to break out your costume is fun, but not as fun as having three or four. This year, Buffalo has a ton of parties going on around the city. From costume parties to ridiculous deals on Halloween-themed beverages, be sure to scope out all that Buffalo has to offer.

Oct. 24

Buffalo Game Space – 2495 Main St.

Normally a place for gamers to congregate, Buffalo Game Space is opening its doors to the public for its “Halloween Spooktacular,” where a raffle for a Wii U, Sabres tickets and other prizes will be held. The event is 18-and-up and should be a good way to kick-start your Halloween festivities.

Oct. 30

Lancaster Opera House – 21 Central Ave.

The Lancaster Opera House will be holding a performance of “Detention of the Damned,” a zombie-themed musical. Afterwards, there will be a showing of “Night of the Living Dead.” If big parties aren’t really your thing, then head out to the Lancaster Opera House for the night and watch a musical and a movie – there will be free snacks.

Buffalo Iron Works – 49 Illinois St.

Teaming up with Relix Magazine’s “On The Verge” artist Aqueous, the venue will be hosting a two-day concert for Halloween. The Buffalo-based band, known for its high-energy jams, offers another option for your Halloween weekend. Tickets are available for $12 in advance or $20 for the full two-day event.

Tralf Music Hall – 622 Main St.

Russell Thompkins, Jr. & the New Stylistics, a soul and R&B band from Philadelphia, will be coming to play at the Tralf. Russell Thompkins, Jr., 64, became well known for his soaring tenor voice during the band’s peak in the ’70s. With a slew of soulful love songs, Thompkins and his band are set to headline the “Halloween Musical Love Affair” next Friday.

Oct. 31

Mohawk Place – 47 E. Mohawk St.

For Halloween, Mohawk Place is hosting a nostalgic night for music lovers and trick-or-treaters alike. There will be multiple tribute bands performing that night, including a Joy Division and Pavement tribute. The event is $5 for those who attend in a costume, with a costume contest held later in the evening.

Kleinhans Music Hall – 3 Symphony Circle

Kleinhans will be offering a low-key evening for people who don’t feel like going to any parties. They are holding a movie screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s horror classic “Psycho” with a slight twist. To add to the suspense, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing the original soundtrack live.

Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar – 253 Allen St.

Duke’s 6th Annual Monster Ball is one of the loudest, biggest Halloween parties in Buffalo each year. There will be six DJ sets playing throughout the night, starting at 9 p.m. and ending at 4 a.m. There will be raffles, giveaways and prizes to win with a $500 prize at the end of the night for the best costume.
