Actor, director, screenwriter and science communicator Alan Alda spoke at Alumni Arena Wednesday night as part of UB’s 31st annual Distinguished Speakers Series. Alda discussed the value of clear and empathetic scientific communication.

Models pose for Black Student Union’s Black Explosion fashion show. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of BSU and showcased student and local talent in the fields of music, dance and clothing.

Students and staff enjoyed the 7th annual Life Raft Debate, sponsored by UB's Honors College and Experiential Learning Network. The event is hypothetical, intellectual debate over whose department would prove the most helpful in rebuilding society after a nuclear attack. 

Graduate students, faculty, and members of the community gathered in Founders Plaza on Wednesday afternoon in protest of the tax bill recently passed by the House of Republicans. This event was one of many nationally organized in opposition of the bill.

Three weeks after a water main break in Clemens shut down the building, the estimated damage can still not be provided. During the flooding, classes were canceled and professors lost valuable materials that are irreplaceable.
