Each new day brings sports fans that much closer to the start of the 2001-2002 National Basketball Association season. The season promises to be an intriguing one, as many teams have dished out millions of dollars for free agents in efforts to remain competitive and challenge for playoff spots.
Passing Offense For the second straight game the offensive line had a solid performance in giving Quarterback Joe Freedy the time he needed to find the open man. Freedy responded by completing 20 passes for 242 yards and most importantly no interceptions. He was not afraid to test the Eagles corners deep, and it proved successful on a 44-yard touchdown pass to Bradford. However in the final quarter the passing game was unable to amount a final scoring drive that could of won the game. Freedy's completion percentage needs to be higher than 45 percent. Grade: B-
Last Friday, the University at Buffalo's men's tennis team waged war against the University of Vermont and came out victorious with an outstanding 6-1 victory. The score does not reveal just how competitive some of the matches were, with a few three-set battles in singles competition and some nail-biters in the doubles matches.
