Allen Greene will be leaving UB to become the athletic director at Auburn University beginning in February. Greene has been the athletic director for Buffalo since November 2015 and served as an associate athletic director prior to that, under his predecessor, Danny White.

The Bulls pulled off an incredible upset when they took down the Ohio Bobcats, 31-24 the day after Thanksgiving. The Bobcats were seven-point favorites and I didn’t think the Bulls had a chance against them. But they pulled out the win, collecting their sixth of the season.

Saturday was not Buffalo’s day. The Buffalo Bulls (3-5, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) fell 24-14 to the Miami (OH) RedHawks in a game where they never seemed to get in a groove. Buffalo had their second lowest yardage output of the season. The Bulls were on their third starting quarterback of the season and it was evident in how the offense played.

Saturday marked the third different quarterback to start a game for the Bulls this season. Kyle Vantrease came to Buffalo this past spring and was supposed to redshirt the year, but when both the Bulls’ starting and backup quarterbacks got injured, he was forced to forego his redshirt status and make his first start on Saturday.

The Buffalo Bulls (3-4, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) season was jeopardized Saturday as backup junior quarterback Drew Anderson suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder. True freshman Kyle Vantrease stepped in for the Bulls. The Northern Illinois Huskies’ (4-2, 2-0 MAC) top ranked defense in the MAC was too much for Vantrease and Buffalo lost 14-13. Buffalo has lost its last two games by only four total points.
