Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning's record for most passing yards in NFL history with 72,103 yards. He did so on Monday night with a masterful performance putting up 363 yards and 3 touchdowns. Last week we saw monster running back performances like Todd Gurley and his 3 TDs, Saquon Barkley showed his “generational talent” with 24.9 fantasy points and a leaping score. Players returning from injury and suspension also had good days as Joe Mixon, Mark Ingram II and Julian Edelman showed why they are instant starts going forward. Tight End continues to be the hardest to gauge position in the league as Eric Ebron exploded for 31 points while Jordan Reed had 21 yards in total.
Seven minutes into overtime, junior Ohio Bobcats midfielder Alivia Milesky cut inside to pass senior Buffalo defender Gurjeena Jandu. Milesky faked a shot as freshman goalkeeper Emily Kelly dove in front. Milesky easily dribbled around her to shoot the ball into the empty net and defeat the Bulls 2-1 in overtime.
Mark Ingram II and Julian Edelman return from their four-week suspensions and are immediately fantasy starts. Tom Brady has missed Edelman and the New England Patriots offense has struggled without him. The New Orleans Saints are relying heavily on Alvin Kamara but now with Ingram back they can return to the devastating running attack that led the league last season. Injuries have taken more tight ends this week as we see Tyler Eifert, Will Dissly and O.J. Howard all go down. Offense continued to reign supreme and it seems as if you can't score 30 points you will lose.
Injuries were the theme last week with big names going down. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's season is over after tearing his ACL, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green left the game with a hamstring injury and New York Giants tight end Evan Engram is out four to six weeks.
