Gorillaz make triumphant return with its new album

If the Gorillaz’ fifth studio album Humanz is the virtual band’s last, band creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett can hang their hats high. Even with a long five-year break between now and their last release “Do Ya Thing” in 2012, Albarn (the musical performer of the Gorillaz) has returned in top form.

UB Anderson Gallery features 'The Language of Objects' exhibit

As museumgoers walked throughout UB’s Anderson gallery, UB dance students crawled out of the woodwork mimicking the works displayed throughout the gallery.

The dancers wore Styrofoam 3D-printed replicas of masks from UB’s Cravens Collection – a collection of archaeological and ethnographic objects from around the world dating as far back as 4,500 BC – which they incorporated into their routine. Patrons had the opportunity to interact with exhibit artists during an artist talk Sunday afternoon. Each artist talked and answered audience questions about their work

Monsieur Periné rocks UB Center for the Arts

Monsieur Periné performed two consecutive shows at the Center for the Arts on Tuesday night in its first-ever Buffalo show. The band, which won the 2015 “Best New Artist” category at the Latin Grammys, is notable for its on-stage quirkiness along with its ability to communicate with the audience. The band mesmerized fans and newcomers alike with a fresh approach to jazz.

Opinions may vary on this year’s Spring Fest lineup, but the only way to really know what to expect is to listen for yourself. Before the lights go down in Alumni Arena on April 28, it’s best to know the lyrics instead of pretending to. This playlist is a good start.

UB Spring Fest ticket registration opens

UB’s Student Association opened Spring Fest ticket registration for all undergraduate students this morning at 10 a.m.

More than 2,500 students registered for concert tickets by 11 a.m.

The website slowed down considerably because of students logging on to the website, but it never crashed, according to SA president Matt Rivera.
