Exceeding expectations in higher education

Its requirements are rigorous, but the lifetime benefits of joining this society are more than worth it. The National Society of College Scholars (NSCS) University at Buffalo chapter has been in existence since 2004 and encourages its members to achieve and promote growth of scholastic achievement in the Buffalo community.

An expanding mind

Dr. Kah Kyung Cho can speak four languages and has scholastic experience in three countries across three continents, and he wants to change the nature of philosophical study at UB. Cho, a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor of philosophy, started teaching at UB in 1970 and has been teaching undergraduate students ever since.

Kicking cancer's butt

It was a brisk Saturday morning as hundreds of students stood in anticipation - teams formed and were ready for a full day of kickball. This was the start of the fourth-annual Save Second Base kickball tournament, sponsored by the organization UB Colleges Against Cancer.

Joe Barrett, dripping with sweat in the extreme heat of Thailand, armed with his gun, pods and team threads, sprinted into battle.
