Newcomers highlight upcoming wrestling season

After finishing fourth in the Mid-American Conference Wrestling Championship last year, head coach Jim Beichner went on a recruiting trip that brought back 16 Division-I caliber wrestlers, 11 from New York alone. The class of 2012 will be the largest class of newcomers in the 13 years that Belchner has been coaching at Buffalo. [read more]

Robinson suspended

Senior guard Andy Robinson of the men's basketball team has been suspended for the first three games of the upcoming season. On April 17, Robinson posted a Facebook Marketplace listing soliciting assistance with a paper and assigned questions. According to the post, Robinson was willing to pay up to $40 for the assignment to be completed. [read more]

SA drops teacher evaluation site

   Teacher evaluations that students fill out at the end of the semester are no longer available for viewing on the Student Association's (SA) Web site. The site hadn't been updated since the evaluations switched from in-class bubble sheets to online surveys, according to SA President Peter Grollitsch. [read more]

Spectacle or spectacular?

   I admit to being mildly surprised at the overwhelmingly positive response to Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight. It was increasingly obvious as we got closer to the film's debut that we were in for a treat, as we first saw what Heath Ledger had become, then heard critics' initial reports of a 'new standard for superhero movies.' But even so, the level of praise that we've been inundated with, from non-rabid fans, is astounding. [read more]
