   Students can be especially prone to having their identities stolen, as UB's Derek Mascarenhas learned the hard way. A credit score isn't the only thing that can be impacted by identity theft - students need to fear being dropped or resigned from their classes or having their grades or transcripts permanently ruined. Annual holiday carnival educates and entertains

   The holiday season brings a lot more celebrations than just Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Setsubun, Bodhi, World AIDS Day, New Year's Day, winter solstice and the mainstream holidays were showcased at the second annual Holiday Carnival this Monday in the Student Union flag room. [read more]

An open letter to the University Community

The University at Buffalo Police Department is very concerned about crime on and off campus, particularly the recent sexual assault of one of our students. While our investigation continues we are increasing the police presence on both campuses, particularly on afternoons and early evenings. In addition to the extras steps your University Police are taking we are asking for you assistance. The most important thing you can do is call us to report any suspicious activity! [read more]

Bulls make a splash at Zippy Invitational

   The Buffalo men's and women's swimming and diving teams were able to set some season-best performances at the Zippy Invitational hosted by Mid-American Conference (MAC) rival Akron. Over the three days of competition, the Bulls continuously gave their best as multiple athletes broke personal, school, and competition records in the pool. [read more]

   Scoring buckets is one of the specialties of junior shooting guard Andy Robinson, or "A-Rob" to the fans. After becoming a starter last year, Robinson has made great strides to chip in a lot of points for the Bulls. But if you see Robinson on the court, you can tell he's a big fan of defense. Interpretation at the heart of inaccuracy

To the editor:

I am writing in regards to the recent article published in The Spectrum (MyTurn: "Current events match Bible prophecies: Russia and Israel.") It is difficult to tell, at first glance, whether the article is presented as fact or opinion. As a result, I was shocked to see the article in The Spectrum, which I did not believe to be a forum for allowing bizarre biblical interpretation to be presented in a format where it could easily be mistaken as fact. The Korean Folk Art Club (KFAC), which branched off from the Korean Student Association (KSA), offers students the opportunity to continue the traditions of their home country here at UB. Student raped in North Campus attack

   Two males forcibly took an undergraduate student from the Lake LaSalle parking lot on Monday, Dec. 5 at approximately 5 p.m. The student was taken to a remote on-campus location where she was sexually assaulted. [read more]

The red dots revealed
