The weather in Queen City is steadily getting colder and students are beginning to hibernate, but Buffalo still has more in store for them. Whether you’re big on the social scene, the music scene or just looking for something low key to do on campus, there’s something for you. Check out what’s going on this weekend in Buffalo.
Who/What: Buffalo Oktoberfest
Where: Buffalo Central Terminal, 495 Paderewski Drive Buffalo, N.Y., 14212
When: Saturday at 4-11 p.m.
With October around the corner, it’s time once again for Buffalo patrons to celebrate Oktoberfest. In “traditional Munich style,” the main concourse will be transformed into a “beer garden” of sorts where attendees can drink beer, eat good food and even buy fun merchandise. German-American musicians will be providing the night’s soundtrack to make the whole Oktoberfest vibe even more authentic. Patrons in costume will even be granted free admission.
Who/What: Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood: Two Man Group
Where: Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts
When: Saturday at 7 p.m.
For those of you uninterested in Bar Crawl or simply don’t have the resources to leave campus, the CFA has something planned for this weekend. This Saturday, two familiar faces from the hit show Whose Line Is It Anyway? will be at the CFA for their joint comedy show, Two Man Group. The show is based off their time at Whose Line… and will include skits and suggestions from the audience. Tickets are on sale for $32 and $40 at the CFA box office from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the show. Tickets are also available on Ticketmaster.com and any Ticketmaster outlet.
Who/What: Bar Crawl
Where: Various Downtown locations (Chippewa St., Pearl St., Franklin St.)
When: Saturday at 10 p.m.
As usual, a night of chaos is sure to ensue in this weekend’s Bar Crawl. There will be thousands of people – girls and guys with the YSL cologne – prowling up and down the street and in and out of bars before everything gets shut down at 4 a.m. There’s a bunch of bars, so music will range from pop to hip-hop to techno with good deals inside to keep your carrying keep full. If you haven’t already purchased your cup and ticket for Bar Crawl, they will be $15 at designated locations. Be safe, but have fun at the same time.
