UB investigators conclude on-campus attempted sexual abuse claims false

University police conclude the alleged attempted sexual abuse claims Monday morning are false.

UB sent an alert to the UB community at 3:25 a.m. Monday saying a UB female was "roughed up and assaulted" by two tall black males of medium built near the Ellicott Complex and the Millard Fillmore Academic Center.

UPD was unable to find evidence to support the student's claim and the student admitted the incident never happened, according to a release.

"This incident created an atmosphere of concern on campus, and we think it is important for everybody at UB to know that we have determined that the alleged crime never took place," said Chief Gerald Schoenle.

The case will be referred to Office of Judicial Affairs and Student Advocacy.
