UB Police blotter 4/19/16 – 4/26/16

All information according to University Police. 

4/19

3:42 a.m. – A Porter Hall resident adviser reported a student hit his roommate with a shoe while the roommate was sleeping. The two were separated and not actively fighting. Patrol determined the incident was a roommate dispute and would be handled by housing.

8:22 a.m. – Patrol reported someone had damaged two chairs overnight in the locked sixth floor lounge of Goodyear Hall.

3:56 p.m. – A caller reported a dog was left in a vehicle in Sherman Lot for an unknown amount of time. The windows were slightly cracked and the dog was whimpering. Patrol reported the owner came and picked up the dog.

4:02 p.m. – Campus Living reported a possible missing person from Fargo Quadrangle. Contact was made with the subject’s mother who confirmed the subject was home and had withdrawn from UB.

6:24 a.m. – An Ellicott Grounds supervisor states there is a vehicle parked against the building at Moody Terrace. The vehicle was running and a person was sleeping in it. The supervisor believed the person was intoxicated. Patrol was dispatched and reported the person was just tired.

8:16 a.m. – An employee reported a dog was locked in a grey Subaru in Cooke parking lot. Patrol reported the dog was not in distress but the windows of the vehicle were up. Patrol contacted the owner’s father and the dog was removed.

7:39 a.m. – A UB employee reported a “suspicious” male was lying down in Richmond Quadrangle. The male only had underwear on. Patrol was dispatched.

2:57 p.m. – A Hadley Complex director reported a resident reported a burglary to Campus Living. The subject said the door to her apartment was ajar and her bedroom was disheveled and looked as though someone went through it. IDs, credit cards and money were believed to be missing.

8:04 p.m. – Patrol reported finding graffiti on Lower Putnam Road near the Student Union. The tag “Kenzo” was written with black marker on a clear plastic box along the roadway.

5:51 p.m. – A UB student called to report her ex-boyfriend is harassing her and her roommate. The student reported she is fearful. Patrol reported the incidents occurred in the city of Buffalo and referred the student to the Buffalo Police Department.

7:25 p.m. – Patrol responded to the women’s bathroom near the jogging track. A woman was reported to be in a bathroom stall and refused to come out.

7:42 p.m. – A UB student reported he had been pickpocketed at Spring Fest and found someone had stolen his cellphone.

4/26

12:33 a.m. – Dispatch observed a male staring at a camera on the sixth floor of Clement Hall while another person off-camera covered it. Patrol reported one of the subjects was concerned why there was a camera in the hallway and put his hand in front of it. The other subject reported he was just staring at the camera and waving his hand in front of it. Both subjects said they were not attempting to damage the camera.
