UB Police blotter 2/23-3/1

2/23

12:09 p.m. – Two males were reported shooting a recurve bow and arrow near the sewage treatment plant on Service Center Road. Patrol advised the males to not shoot a bow and arrow.

1:35 p.m. – A UB employee reported larceny of a large painting from the hallway outside of Baldy 367. Patrol filed a report.

3:21 p.m. – An individual requested a welfare check on a student who previously attempted suicide. The student’s roommate reported the student had not left his room in 10 days. Patrol dispatched to check on student who reported he was OK and was not planning on hurting himself at this time. Patrol advised student of Counseling Services on campus.

3:26 p.m. – A student reported his backpack was stolen from the lounge near the exits in Center for Arts. The backpack contained a laptop, chargers, art supplies, headphones and other school supplies.

1:45 p.m. – A UB employee reported an elderly man walking around Goodyear and Clement Halls. The man was requesting help with his hearing aids. The man was taken to the Hearing and Speech Clinic in Cary Hall.

8:20 p.m. – A woman contacted University Police regarding her cousin, a UB student, who was almost three hours late from when he or she planned to be home. The woman was unable to reach the student via phone or text. The student eventually came home safely.

9:16 p.m. – Patrol reported that a pedestrian crosswalk sign at the entrance to Hadley Village Apartment Complex was severely damaged. There were pieces of the sign in the walkway. Maintenance was notified.

9:24 p.m. – An employee reported a fight in the Clark Hall gymnasium between four individuals. The employee stated the individuals were still in the gym and were no longer fighting but preparing to resume a floor hockey game. Patrol reported that a floor hockey game was in progress and the employee mistook excessive shoving during the game as a fight.

2/25

11:45 p.m. – A student reported a suspicious person wearing a zebra ski mask and green hat sitting down in the bridge between Lockwood Library and the Student Union. The student said the person stood up and pointed at him as he or she walked by. Patrol reported the individual was practicing dance and planned to return home shortly.

2/26

1:20 a.m. – A student reported four people smoking marijuana outside of Clinton Hall. Patrol did not find marijuana but the four students were smoking cigarettes.

2/27

3:32 p.m. – A student reported six of his prescription Xanax pills were taken from a container in his room. The student said the bottle was full earlier in the day but when he went to take a pill later they were missing.

5:27 p.m. – A Hadley Village resident reported a male wearing dark clothing yelling obscenities to himself. The resident reported the male was acting strange.

9:18 p.m. – A resident adviser (RA) called on behalf of a student who wanted to report harassment. The student said an unknown person was throwing paper soaked in water into his room.
