Sexual assault reported in UB on-campus apartment

A UB alert about a reported sexual assault in an on-campus apartment was sent out at 9:45 p.m. Monday. The report was made to the University Police Department that day. The alleged attack happened on Sunday.

The alert said that the female victim was acquainted with the suspect. UB Spokesperson John Della Contrada said the suspect is a male and but that the university cannot release any other description. Deputy Chief of Police Joshua Sticht said the victim is being cooperative and helpful with the investigation.

Della Contrada said the university cannot give more information at this time because the investigation is ongoing and in the early stages and UB does not want it to be compromised.
